MOTHER-OF-PEARL/STERLING BELT BUCKLE
Interesting two-piece, almost heart-shaped mother of pearl belt buckle, Art Nouveau. The two buckle sections are mother-of-pearl with scalloped, carved edge. The silver filigree lady is sterling. The silver filigree is hand-done and very good work. Both silver buckle pieces on the back of the buckle sections are marked sterling. The mother-of-pearl sections are 1-3/4 inches by 1-9/16 inches (at the widest portion of the heart). These are in very good condition. One buckle portion (the piece without the lady) is bent a little from use. There are no chips or scratches. The mark on the back is a hairline crack but it does not go through to the front and does not affect the stability of the piece.

SILVER, MOTHER-OF-PEARL TEETHER/ WHISTLE
Victorian mother-of-pearl teething piece set in silver whistle. Approximately 2-1/2 inches long. The initials "PTW" or "PFW" are engraved in script on the back. Very pretty piece. The silver is in good condition. At the end of the teething piece, there appears to be a "slice" of mother-of-pearl chipped off, but it is rubbed smooth which seems to suggest that it happened some time ago.

There is a small indentation in the silver on either side of the mouthpiece for the whistle. It is a very pretty piece. This item was part of a private collection, and, based on information provided to us by the previous owner is turn of the century.
