It also has a a couple of pinhead-size nicks on the edge of the back portion and one shallow nick about 1/4 inches long on the hinge edge of the back.. The interior velvet is in very good condition with one very small patch of missing nap. The case is 3 inches x 2-1/2 inches. The gilt-framed tintype has some tarnish and is 2-1/2 x 2 inches. TINTYPE OF SOLDIER, LEATHER CASE
Early, high-quality tintype in tooled leather case measures 3-1/8 inches x 3-5/8 inches. The tintype is in mint condition. The ornate interior frame is in excellent condition. The leather exterior of the case has a few very small worn places along the edges and at the corners. The latch is original, intact and works perfectly. The case is in very good condition. The 1/9 plate image is a very clear picture of a soldier. We think it is an Indian Wars uniform.
