Set of five Russian 875 silver tea strainers with cup clips. Interior of strainers are gold-washed. Exteriors are engraved with an abstract foliage design.
There are two hallmarks. The first consists of a 9, then a capital Russian B and a capital Russian YU (no English equivalent for this letter).
The second mark begins with a capital Russian B, then a hammer and sickle inside a star, and the number 875.
The number 9 in the first mark is probably a date code; in this case 1969. The hammer and sickle mark came into use after 1958.
Excellent condition Soviet Period collectible. A nice item for silver or tea accessory collectors. |
