| This is one of the most beautiful magnifying glasses we have ever had. It is rare because it has a sterling head attached to a panelled mother of pearl handle with silver trim. The end of the handle is beautifully carved, thick mother of pearl. The sterling head around the glass has a beaded edging adornment on both sides. The lens is in excellent condition. The handle is perfect and marked sterling on every piece of the silver. The lowest silver portion has a floral design with great detail. The silver on the handle is hand-engraved as is the mother of pearl on the end of the handle. The magnifying glass is 11-1/2 inches long x 3-5/8 inches wide and approximately 5/8 inches thick. What a great collector's item! This is probably one of the few chances to purchase a solid silver magnifier with the head and handle both sterling. |
