Rare Wedgwood incised flow blue plate in Water Nymph or Nymphae pattern by Josiah Wedgwood. (Nymphae is botanical name for water lily). This is a beautiful design and color. The edge of the plate is gently scalloped. The floral design consists of large water lilies and leaves. Circa 1850 - 1875. Plate is 10-3/8 inches wide. This is a heavy plate. This plate is in excellent condition - no chips or cracks. There is some minor crazing. The plate has the impressed mark Wedgwood and blue underglazed mark Nymphae. |
