This is a beautiful European sterling silver compact that is heavily engraved on front and back with bevelled edges. The sterling marks are on the flanges on the edge of the case. The exterior of the case is in excellent condition with minor abrasions around the closure. The hinges and snap-close mechanism are tight. The interior is gold-washed although that has worn away. It shows some wear and the edge band piece that holds the cigarettes is loose. The case is 2-3/4 inches x 2-3/4 inches. The front has a presentation area for initials. The numbers "13" are impressed in the interior on the lid and bottom portion. |
