These two compotes are American Brilliant cut glass made by J. Hoare Corning. They are circa 1853. The two compotes are matching design but there is a slight difference in size. One compote is 7-1/4 inches tall; 4-5/8 inches across the top; and 3-7/8 inches at the base. The other one is 7 inches tall; 4-1/2 inches across the top; and 4 inches at the base. They are in very good condition. There are some wear marks or abrasion marks on the bottom. The smaller compote has two light scratches across the top of the base. One of the compotes has 2 or 3 very small chips - barely noticeable unless examined with a magnifying glass. |
