Original oil painting by Texas artist Rolla Taylor. Canvas size approximately 12 x 16 inches. Frame size is 17-1/2 x 21-1/2 inches. Rolla Sims Taylor, 1871 - 1970. He was born in Galveston, Texas, raised in Cuero, and later moved to San Antonio where he received his art instruction. He studied with Jose Arpa, Theodore Gentilz, and Robert Onderodonk. Taylor is known for his paintings of San Antonio scenes, particularly old houses, the missions, scenes along the San Antonio River, the Irish Flat and Mexican subjects. |
