This is a color etching and metal collage done by Lynn Chadwick. It is titled "Red and Black." It is a signed, original limited edition. Lynn Chadwick was born in London in 1914 and was educated as an architectural draughtsman at the Merchant Taylors’ School. He earned an outstanding reputation as both a sculptor and printmaker. Chadwick’s work was represented in major exhibitions throughout the world including the 9th Salon de Mai at the Musee National d’ Art Moderne in Paris in 1953; “The New Decade” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, 1955; and “ The Season” at the Tate Gallery in London. He had to his credit more than ten one-man shows in less than fifteen years and his work was represented in the permanent collections of the Tate Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum, Musee National d’ Art Moderne, Museum of Moderne Art, and Art Institute of Chicago. Dimensions: sight: 22 x 16-1/4 inches; matted; narrow wood frame painted black 29 x 23-1/4 inches. Excellent condition. Some yellowing or discoloration (probably from light) at top.
